What Is Laughter Yoga?

"Laughter is a fantastic boost for your health—it’s a fun aerobic exercise that lowers blood pressure, sharpens focus, and enhances your immune system. While kids laugh around 300 times a day, adults only chuckle five to ten times! Luckily, your body can't tell the difference between genuine and playful laughter, so let dive into those joyful exercises and elevate your spirit!"

Meet The Expert: Amy Meera Gill
Amy Meera Gill is a passionate educator and advocate for mental wellness, known for her transformative work in the fields of law, education, and laughter yoga. Graduating with a law degree in 1993, Amy embarked on a journey in the education field that spanned over two decades. Initially serving as a law lecturer, she later transitioned into a motivational speaker, conducting workshops focused on soft skills development.
In 2012, amidst her personal battle with depression, Amy discovered the healing power of laughter yoga. This transformative experience inspired her to dedicate herself to spreading joy and positivity through laughter. Becoming a certified laughter yoga instructor, Amy embarked on a mission to uplift others and promote mental well-being through the practice of laughter.
Her dedication and impact did not go unnoticed. In 2021, Amy was recognized by Women and Home magazine as a winner for her exceptional contributions to spreading joy via laughter yoga. Her work has also been featured in prominent media outlets, including BBC Radio Nottingham, where she has been interviewed multiple times, as well as Women and Home magazine and the Nottingham Post.
Amy Meera Gill's story is a testament to the power of resilience, self-discovery, and the transformative potential of laughter. Through her unique blend of expertise in law, education, and laughter yoga, she continues to inspire and uplift countless individuals on their journey towards greater happiness and well-being.
In 2024, Amy Meera Gill was honoured with Award for Laughter Yoga Leader of the Year by EveryWoman TV Global Awards!
